- Safe steps would be a proactive safety program designed to protect children, seniors, people with disabilities night-shift workers and anyone walking alone in neighborhoods. Using smart community security cameras, emergency safety buttons at high-risk corners, including community trainings on when and how to use these safety features.

- Many Bronx residents feel unsafe simply walking outside during the day or night, commuting to work or from school, or waiting for public transportation. This includes older adults, children, students, people with disability and women experiencing harassment.
