- Idea Submission for The People's Money:
- Community Language Interface will focus on community events and workshops that connect people across language barriers. Some events will include conversational practice for language learners (both ESL learners and Native English learners) and music festivals which transcend language.
- What is the problem your idea aims to address?
- Migrants and limited English speakers in our community are isolated by language barriers before being able to truly engage with their community. We need to focus on more than just ESL which puts the onus on these populations to do the work themselves without more support from their communities and neighbors to involve them and adapt to new languages.
