From May 6 to June 21, 2026, 134,418 New Yorkers voted on how to spend part of the city budget to address community needs. Of those residents, 122,380 voted in-person on a paper ballot, and 12,038 voted digitally. Below are the winning ideas in each borough.

BRONX

35,067 Bronx residents voted in The People’s Money in 2026! Each idea will receive $200,000 of funding.

  • Money Management Workshops for Youth: Through interactive lessons and practical activities, youth will be taught the basics of saving, investing, budgeting, and entrepreneurship.

  • Inclusive Programming for Children on the Autism Spectrum: Create extracurricular programs and services for children on the autism spectrum. Activities could include sports, music, dance, art, and computers.

  • Working Together to Make Your Block Better: This program brings people together to beautify their block and make connections with activities like tree pit care, gardening, and litter patrols.

  • The Bronx Mobile Health Clinic: A mobile clinic to screen for common health issues. Pop-up festivals will focus on promotion and preventative care for those without insurance.

  • Wellness Workshops for Bronx Residents: Workshops to help people combat chronic disease and stress. Participants will build community and improve wellness with movement & mindfulness.

BROOKLYN

31,952 Brooklyn residents voted in The People’s Money in 2026! Each idea will receive $235,000 of funding.

  • Community Choice Food and Supplies Pantry Pop-up + “The People’s Designed by Community” Fellowship Program: A mobile, choice-based pantry that allows families to select their own groceries, fresh produce, hygiene supplies, and household essentials. This project's funding includes $88K in additional funding and facilitation support for the Designed by Community (DxC) Fellowship Program.

  • Youth Services Hub: A center providing arts and culture, college and career readiness, holistic social services, mental health support and more for youth up to age 25.

  • Financial Education Workshops: Workshops that teach basic finances including managing your credit, budgeting, and ways to increase income. Learn how to file taxes and avoid scams.

  • Accessible Health Screenings for All: A program providing health screenings for all residents, such as blood pressure checks and glucose screenings. Services provided in multiple languages.

  • Wellness Support Program for Families of Special Needs Youth: A healing-centered program for caregivers of special needs youth. Staff would provide wellness and mental health services to strengthen resilience.

MANHATTAN

18,626 Manhattan residents voted in The People’s Money in 2026! Each idea will receive $165,000 of funding.

  • Helping Youth Find Housing After Foster Care: A program for young adults aging out of foster care to help them find safe and stable housing. Connecting youth, landlords, and community resources.

  • Help Searching for Housing: A housing resource program with workshops and one-on-one meetings. Housing counselors will help people find and apply for available housing.

  • Life Skills Workshops for Young Adults: A highschool to workforce transition program designed for young adults, providing personalized guidance, training, and employment resources.

  • Youth Internship and Leadership Program for Civics and Careers: A program with paid internships and mentoring for youth integrating civics education with real-world career exploration and experience.

QUEENS

35,585 Queens residents voted in The People’s Money in 2026! Each idea will receive $195,000 of funding.

  • Healthy Hot Meals Program: A partnership with local chefs to prepare and distribute nutritious hot meals to families, seniors, and unhoused individuals on community meal days.

  • Job Training Program for Immigrants: Partnerships between community-based organizations and local businesses to offer paid, short-term certifications followed by a job interview.

  • Creative Workshops for Youth: An after-school and weekend visual arts and music program for students, to help build creative skills, confidence, and positive engagement.

  • Connecting Tech-Savvy Youth with Seniors: A program where high schoolers provide one-on-one lessons for older adults on how to use smartphones, take video calls, and access online services.

  • Helping Older Adults with Lease Renewals: Lease renewal events with social service workers to assist older adults in renewing their leases. Multilingual assistance will be provided.

STATEN ISLAND

13,188 Staten Island residents voted in The People’s Money in 2026! This idea will receive $190,000 of funding.

  • Staten Island Food Recovery and Delivery Program: This program would work with existing pantries to pick up unsold, edible food from vendors and deliver it to high-need facilities.
