What happens during citywide Voting?

After each borough's ballot has been finalized by the Borough Assemblies, citywide voting begins. All New Yorkers age 11 and older have the opportunity to decide which community project ideas will receive funding from the city budget to be implemented in communities across the city. Residents can vote online or in-person at locations in all five boroughs, with materials and support available in multiple languages.

• The CEC works with community partners and volunteers throughout the city to support participation, including hosting events, setting up ballot boxes, running neighborhood campaigns, and spreading awareness through multimedia and multilingual outreach.

• New Yorkers review the ideas that were developed and selected during the Borough Assemblies, then cast their votes online or at in-person voting sites throughout their borough.

• The top ideas in each borough are selected to become funded projects, bringing positive change to communities across the city.

Voting runs from May 6, 2026 to June 21, 2026. Here's how you can participate:

• Vote online.

• Vote in-person at a community voting event or a designated voting location.
