Muslim Shelter home

Create a community-based support program that helps Muslim immigrant New Yorkers understand and access the shelter system in a way that respects their cultural and religious needs. The program would offer outreach, guidance, and navigation services through trusted community organizations.

There is a gap in culturally and religiously responsive outreach, information, and navigation services for Muslim New Yorkers experiencing homelessness. Because shelters often do not feel culturally appropriate or welcoming, many Muslim immigrants do not seek help, leaving them without safe, accessible housing options.
