This idea has advanced to one of our five Borough Assemblies. Throughout four deliberation sessions, Assembly members will decide whether the idea moves on to the final ballot.
Train and Certify
- Idea Submission for The People's Money:
- 1. English and career focused trainings for adults. Ex: nursing, home healthcare 2. Social media, IT and AI trainings for all ages. Useful also potentially in the job market 3. Streamline certification process by having dedicated department to processes applications and come up with new guidelines. Ex: traditional Chinese medicine is very different from western medicine, and should operate under a different licensing regime
- What is the problem your idea aims to address?
- People who arrive here from other countries as adults often have useful skills that they cannot apply here in the US to make a living. This can be because of a language barrier, or because the US does not recognize their training and education as equivalent to our own. These should be addressed so that new arrivals are able to start contributing as soon as they are able to.
