Idea Submission for The People's Money:
Setting up public workshops for new immigrants and those who speak little to no English to help them navigate our public transit system and ride safely on city streets.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
Not many of our newest New Yorkers know all the rules of the road and have been unfairly targeted by law enforcement for "breaking" laws they probably didn't know about. We should educate new immigrants in their language about the rules of the road, how they can ride bikes, e-bikes and mopeds safely for themselves and other fellow pedestrians. We could also educate them on how to safely navigate the vast subway and bus system, which is often overwhelming for new arrivals to this city.
