Generational Wealth & Financial Empowerment f

What is your idea?
Launch a free, borough-wide financial empowerment program offering practical workshops in libraries, community centers, and neighborhood organizations across Queens and manhattan. Residents will learn budgeting, credit building, saving, homeownership readiness, entrepreneurship, asset protection, and generational wealth strategies. Sessions will also introduce estate planning, wills, trusts, and financial decision-making. Participants will receive accessible educational resources and tools to develop personalized financial action plans, helping families build financial stability and create lasting economic opportunities.
What problem is your idea trying to solve?
Many Manhattan & Queens residents lack affordable access to practical financial education that goes beyond basic budgeting to address long-term wealth creation, asset ownership, and family legacy planning. Without this knowledge, families may struggle to build savings, navigate credit, prepare for homeownership, protect assets, or transfer wealth to future generations. These challenges can contribute to persistent economic inequality. This initiative would close the financial knowledge gap by bringing free, culturally responsive financial education directly into neighborhoods, empowering residents to make informed decisions and build greater financial security.
Which group(s) does your idea focus on?
Youth (under 24)
