What happened during citywide Voting?

The Voting phase of The People’s Money has conclude, and results are currently being finalized. From May 6 – June 21, 2026, all New Yorkers age 11 and older were able to vote both online and in-person to help decide which community project ideas will be implemented in communities across the city. The projects selected by voters will receive funding from the city budget and be brought to life by selected community-based organizations.

• The CEC worked with community partners and volunteers throughout the city to support participation, including hosting events, setting up ballot boxes, running neighborhood campaigns, and spreading awareness through multimedia and multilingual outreach.

• New Yorkers reviewed the ideas that were developed and selected during the Borough Assemblies, then cast their votes online or at in-person voting sites throughout their borough.

• The top ideas in each borough will be selected to become funded projects, bringing positive change to communities across the city.
