The responses below are directly from the community organizations selected to implement The People’s Money projects.

How does your organization plan to bring this idea to life?

CAMBA plans on implementing this program by collaborating with organizations in the community to host series of events and provide service in those locations. We will focus on Middle School parent associations as well as community centers like Starett City's Brooklyn Sports Club Center, East New York's Prince Joshua Avitto Community Center, and Cypress Hills NYCHA community center. We will focus on addressing clients' barriers while supporting their growth through digital and financial professional development.

What motivated your organization to apply to implement this idea?

CAMBA is uniquely qualified to implement this project because over the past two years we have successfully operated a piolet Workforce program targeting NYCHA residents 18 -24 years old in the same geographical location as this project. We take a client centered approach by tailoring our curriculum to address some of the changes that are specific to the area. We also have a Family Services department to connect clients to social resources and other benefits to support family development. CAMBA Workforce has a wide network of employers that consistent refer to CAMBA to find employees so can provide a direct pipeline to employment.

How do you think this project will make a difference in your community?

This program will have a generational effect to the community. Not only will parents receive the support they need to properly foster a healthy home where all family needs are met. This program should relieve the feeling of burn out/stagnancy that plagues the community and proved a proven track to employment. While giving these parents relief we believe that this feel will trickle down to the child's experience at the home as well improving their livelihood.

List at least one thing you're excited about related to this project!

Providing resources and support for participants to gain new certification and improved their skills. If I can be so bold to assume that a parents' top motivation is providing for their children and in this area most parent's don't want their children to grow up in the same fashion. So at the end of this project if we are able to provide parents with the skills I believe it use them to break generational curses and that is what I am most excited about.

How can someone participate or stay up to date on the project?
