4.0 Project Implementation
Explore the projects currently being implemented across New York City through The People’s Money 3rd Cycle!
We’re partnering with 20 community-based organizations across the five boroughs to bring New Yorkers’ winning ideas to life. Cycle 3 projects are actively being implemented in communities throughout the city, with projects ranging from direct services and educational programming to youth development, arts and culture, community wellness, support for older adults, and more.
Some projects are designed for specific communities or populations, while others are open for broader public participation and engagement. Together, these projects are reaching New Yorkers of all ages and backgrounds and reflecting the ideas residents proposed, developed, and voted on through participatory budgeting!
By the Numbers
So far in the Project Implementation phase:
3,500+ individuals have been served
100+ workshops have been held
31,500+ people have been reached through outreach & canvassing
See how New Yorkers are shaping investments in their own communities.

For the first time in a long time, I feel like I can breathe. I’m working, I’m in school, and my children are okay. I feel stronger.” – Participant, “Young Parent Support and Classes” Project, Brooklyn NY
Have an idea you’d like to see brought to life in your neighborhood? That’s what The People’s Money is for — you can vote now on which projects will be implemented in your borough next year, and check back for opportunities to participate in Idea Generation, where New Yorkers submit proposals that can become future projects!
What happens during Project Implementation?
After the voting results are determined and the winning project ideas are announced, the CEC works closely with selected contracted community partners that applied to bring the winning ideas to life! Over the course of the year, the CEC ensures they are supported, effectively monitored, and that projects are completed successfully.
How Project Implementation Works
The CEC invites community-based organizations to apply to turn the ideas into projects through a robust and competitive selection process. CEC staff review applications thoroughly to ensure selected partners will be able to successfully complete their projects and have experience in and passion for the project's impact area.
Selected organizations implement the projects throughout the year with capacity building and project management support from the CEC. In collaboration with The New School's Graduate Program in International Affairs, these Project Cycle Management workshops support the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and consistent reporting out of the projects.
