What problem would you like to solve?

Need for more youth programs, and more services for older New Yorkers to give back and connect with younger generations in community

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

By connecting youth with older adults in their community to discuss the history they have lived through alongside what they are learning about in school could be a really impactful way to not only bring historical events alive, but to form meaningful connections across generations.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Schools/after-school programs to partner with local older adult centers/NORCs to discuss moments in history as they learn about them in their curriculum.

    Who would that help?

Young people, older adults, and the community at large

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

    Brooklyn
