Essential

The Stem Project

Avatar: Nadia Freeman Nadia Freeman
Idea Submission for The People's Money:
Money would be allocated to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math projects/activities where there is low representation of people of color. Exposure is the key. People often assume that careers in these fields require degrees but some blend in with the trades and actually only require certification. With this project, there would be a location available where there is training, workshops, internships, and even recruitment for all things STEM related.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
This is to address the low representation of people of color in the Physical sciences, Engineering, Research and Development, Environmental, GIS, Math, and other related fields. Activities could range from an Afterschool Consumer/Food Science Club to an Urban Planning or GIS drafting class.
Which groups does your idea focus on? Select all that apply
