Idea Submission for The People's Money:
This program should be funded because it helps older adults stay connected, independent, and engaged. By combining tech support, digital safety training, and creative arts activities, it improves access to essential services, protects seniors from scams, and promotes mental, emotional, and social well-being.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
A team of trained staff and volunteers visits senior centers, libraries, and housing sites to provide: • One-on-one help with phones, tablets, telehealth, and online forms • Workshops on digital safety, avoiding scams, and safe online banking • Creative arts activities (painting, music, crafts) to foster social connection and mental wellness • Easy “how-to” guides seniors can take home • Follow-up support for those who need extra help
