Idea Submission for The People's Money:: To develop more diverse programs for adult disabled indivduals after high school that appropriately serve their needs and abilities. These programs should have properly traind staff with a higher ratio of staff to individual 1:1 staffing if needed, nursing services if available, behavioral therapy services, counseling services and more.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?: The population of individual disabled adults who have graduated out of DOE and struggle without any continuing services/programs appropriate to their needs. These individuals suffer from severe regression, lack of purpose and community life,and poor life quality. It is a heavy burden on the individuals and their families and leads to deeper sociatal issues like poor mental health, depression, suicide, obesity and more for people and their families.
