Stronger Together: Safety Support & Services for Seniors and Immigrants

Avatar: Yvette BKLVLUP Yvette BKLVLUP
Idea Submission for The People's Money:
We want a Community Safety & Resource Support Program that brings social resources, job development staff & public safety professionals together to serve seniors and immigrants. It could include monthly neighborhood safety and resource clinics where people could safely talk about their fears and issues, get help accessing benefits and job opportunities with language support. It would also have a workforce program targeted toward seniors who still want to work or volunteer, or they stay active and independent.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
Many seniors and immigrants feel forgotten and unsafe. People are afraid to go outside because of ICE and worry that they will be attacked as vulnerable seniors as times get harder. Seniors don’t know where to go for help and they feel alone.
Which groups does your idea focus on? Select all that apply
Older Adults (65 +)
