Idea Submission for The People's Money:
This is a growing concern affecting all five boroughs. When safety issues arise, the impact extends beyond the individual—it also affects their families and the community at large, often taking a toll on mental health and emotional well-being. Participants emphasized the importance of creating proactive measures and support networks to ensure young people feel safe, supported, and valued.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
Participants highlighted the importance of creating safe environments and support systems for young adults. Discussions emphasized the need for: Awareness programs on personal safety, mental health, and responsible social behavior. Safe community spaces where youth can gather, learn, and express themselves freely. Collaboration with schools and local organizations to address issues such as bullying, substance abuse, and online safety. Mentorship programs connecting young adults with positive role models from within the community.
