1.0 Idea Generation

What happened during Idea Generation?

In the fall of 2024, New Yorkers were invited to attend public and virtual Idea Generation Workshops to:

  • Learn how the city budget works

  • Talk about what their neighborhoods need

  • Share and develop ideas to improve their communities

They also submitted ideas online, here at Participate.nyc.gov.

Highlights from Idea Generation!

  • Before launching, the CEC led a robust engagement process to request proposals from community-based organizations and other groups to partner with us to facilitate Idea Generations Workshops across the five boroughs. 166 partners were selected.

  • The CEC and our 166 partners facilitated 502 Idea Generation Workshops across the city through which we engaged 9,586 New Yorkers.

               Community IG Workshops

  • In total, New Yorkers submitted 3,728 ideas across the five boroughs.
