3.0 Voting

What happened during citywide Voting?

From May 14th through June 25th, 2025, over a hundred thousand New Yorkers voted on how to spend part of the city budget to address community needs. Residents had the opportunity to vote online or in-person, in multiple languages, at sites across the five boroughs. All NYC residents 11 and older and regardless of immigration status were eligible to vote. A total of 20 ideas were selected to become implemented projects, including five in the Bronx, five in Brooklyn, four in Manhattan, five in Queens, and one in Staten Island.

Highlights from citywide voting!

  • The CEC worked with 82 community partners, as well as volunteers across the five boroughs on a citywide get out the vote campaign to ensure all eligible New Yorkers had the opportunity to participate. Partners hosted ballot boxes, voting drives, community events, and neighborhood canvasses to support this civic engagement effort.

  • The CEC staffed events citywide to spread awareness and collect votes, including the Queens Pride Parade, the Museum Mile Festival in Manhattan, Bronx Week Parade and Festival, Dance Africa Festival in Brooklyn, and Staten Island Family Fun Day.

  • These efforts included a multimedia, multilingual citywide advertising strategy that yielded over 2 million impressions and over 17,000 clicks, reaching New Yorkers across the city via digital and ethnic media platforms.
