My students often do not have English speakers at home, and do not know people to practice speaking English with outside the classroom. Lacking a context to practice using English slows their progress considerably. \n\n</div></dd><dt name=\"textarea-1727191235485-0\">What is the solution to the challenge?</dt><dd id=\"textarea-1727191235485-0\" name=\"textarea\">\n\n<div>I'd like to set up a Conversation Club in my community for immigrants and limited English speakers to practice using English. This club would take place 2 to 3 times a week in one of our buildings (or at the community's cafe). English Learners could sign up for free one-on-one conversations with native speakers of English living in our community of roughly 60 people. I would provide starter conversation topics or short articles tailored to non-native speakers of English, if needed.
