Changes at "Light Up Our Streets"

What problem would you like to solve?

Poorly dimmed streets which limit visibility in the evening hours and make our neighborhood sidewalks feel unsafe to use. Union City is a prime example of a densely populated urban area whose crime went down, vehicular accidents decreased, and pollution diminished by installing high light fixtures in all of the neighborhoods. They also light up all of the traffic signs i. e. stop signs with red small flashing bulbs around the circumference of the signs.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Our neighborhoods are poorly lit which creates an atmosphere that is unsafe to walk in especially for women in the night time. There are people who litter because they aren’t seen doing it in the darkness.

What idea do you have to address the problem?
