What problem would you like to solve?

Widespread unemployment in the Bronx. A lack of knowledge prevents people from utilizing their many talents to create a business and earn money.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

There are many skilled and talented people in the Mott Haven community who do not have the knowledge or proper guidance to pursue entrepreneurship.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Workshops in generating business ideas, creating business plans, choosing and registering a business name, website development, and guidance in accessing the tolls available through SBA and other organizations to maintain their business.

Who would that help?

Unemployment affects everyone in the community negatively, not just the ones who are unemployed. This program would benefit the community on a broad level.
