What problem would you like to solve?

[Students from low-income & underrepresented communities have suffered the consequences of the pandemic, especially in the STEAM area of mathematics.]

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

[ Tutoring gives students of low-income & underrepresented communities more time to practice and to make progress at their own pace as well as to review skills they have not yet mastered. ]

What idea do you have to address the problem?

[As a way to better serve students in the community, our homework helper program will implement specialized differentiated instruction methods around the math common core topics that will focus on important mathematical development areas critical for middle school students transitioning towards high school. This will close learning gaps and inspire an interest in STEAM that can drive their educational goals to college.]

Who would that help?

[The goal of our program is to increase students' confidence, improve their academic performance and establish healthy study habits for students of low-income and underrepresented communities.]
