Idea Submission for The People's Money:
"Wellness Workshops that give community members tools to combat the effects of chronic diseases, obesity, and stress. Through wellness workshops, community members will foster community and participate in open discussions on wellness topics and movement with mindfulness practices. Workshops will incorporate nature walks with mindfulness tools such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), sound baths, yoga, stretching, breathwork, and meditation. Workshops will be offered to low-income housing residents and participants of community organizations, substance abuse and re-entry programs, gardens, and senior day programs."
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
This initiative hopes to address the, , Bronx continues to be the unhealthiest county in the state of NY. The Bronx also has the second lowest life expectancy in NYS and highest prevalence of diabetes and obese.
