Idea Submission for The People's Money:
"First, our youth benefits from hands-on internships and job training programs in the STEAM sectors, with a strong focus on Technology and the Arts. Secondly, the film festival 🎬 creates numerous jobs in: • PRODUCTION (event and film)… • TECHNOLOGY (computer and design)… • MARKETING (advertising and branding)… • HOSPITALITY (guest and public relations)… Third, Staten Island is often referred to as “The Forgotten Borough.” A world-class film festival inviting international filmmakers will attract visitors and tourists from around the globe who come to NYC, putting a NEW spotlight on Staten Island. 🗽"
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
America today needs a motivated youth population with valuable job skills for the future. We aim to start locally today, here and now, on Staten Island. Another challenge is creating more sustainable and ongoing job opportunities in the STEAM sectors. Society is changing so rapidly that we need our youth to solve emerging problems with critical thinking and technical abilities. ✔️
