This idea has advanced to one of our five Borough Assemblies. Throughout four deliberation sessions, Assembly members will decide whether the idea moves on to the final ballot.
Tenants Rights Workshops
- Idea Submission for The People's Money:
- A workshop that assists and/or informs impacted residents - especially Black Americans because they are the most affected - complete with community resources can arm them with the knowledge necessary to fight housing injustice.
- What is the problem your idea aims to address?
- Many Black Americans have housing insecurity due to racism, discrimination, low wealth, immigrant preference, etc. ; and they suffer from poor housing conditions or threats of eviction from landlords because they fear losing their homes and don't know their rights.
