Idea Submission for The People's Money:
The Neighborhood Resilience Network is a citywide, multi-service community wellbeing and emergency-prevention initiative providing essential resources to families, seniors, and youth. Through 20 interconnected programs, this initiative strengthens food security, senior wellness, family stability, youth development, digital access, and emergency readiness across underserved neighborhoods.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
The PDF identifies multiple chronic issues affecting underserved NYC communities:     •    Food insecurity & limited access to fresh food     •    Senior isolation, fall risks & unsafe living conditions     •    Lack of baby supplies & parent support     •    Hygiene poverty leading to stigma & illness     •    Chronic disease caused by poor nutrition     •    Employment barriers due to lack of certification and readiness     •    Heat-related illness & winter-weather emergencies     •    Digital divide blocking access to jobs, school, and benefits     •    Families unprepared for emergencies     •    Disconnected relationships between community and first responders This coordinated initiative solves these problems by bringing resources directly into neighborhoods, meeting residents where they are, and reducing long-term crises through prevention, empowerment, and education.
