The program provides hands-on experience in visual arts, performing arts, digital media, cultural preservation, museum education, and creative production, while cultivating career skills, cultural pride, and pathways into the creative industries. Program Goals\n\nOffer high-quality paid internships in arts and cultural sectors\n\nPreserve and celebrate the cultural heritage of the community\n\nBuild career pathways into creative industries for high school students\n\nEnhance student creativity, expression, and technical skills\n\nStrengthen partnerships between schools and cultural organizations\n\nPromote youth leadership through community-facing arts projects\n\nProgram Structure\n1. Paid Arts &amp; Culture Internships\n\nStudents are placed in 10–15 hour per week paid internships with partners such as:\n\nLocal art studios &amp; galleries\n\nMuseums, cultural centers, and libraries\n\nCommunity-based arts organizations\n\nPerforming arts companies &amp; theater groups\n\nDigital media and design agencies\n\nCultural preservation projects\n\nMusic production labs\n\nFilm and photography studios\n\nInternship duties may include:\n\nAssisting with exhibitions and installations\n\nSupporting youth workshops or community classes\n\nContent creation and digital storytelling\n\nCataloging and archiving cultural materials\n\nHelping with performances, rehearsals, and public programs\n\nSet design, lighting, costume support, and arts administration\n\nGraphic design and multimedia projects\n\n2. Creative Skills Workshops\n\nInterns participate in weekly workshops such as:\n\nVisual Arts (painting, photography, illustration)\n\nDigital Arts (graphic design, video editing, animation)\n\nPerforming Arts (theater, dance, spoken word, music)\n\nCultural Arts (heritage projects, folkloric arts, oral histories)\n\nMuseum Studies &amp; Curatorial Basics\n\nEvent Production &amp; Arts Administration\n\nPublic Art &amp; Mural Creation\n\nStorytelling and Creative Writing\n\nWorkshops integrate both creative expression and industry skills.\n\n3. Cultural Preservation &amp; Community Storytelling Project\n\nEach cohort completes an Arts &amp; Culture Community Project, such as:\n\nA photography exhibit capturing neighborhood stories\n\nA mural reflecting cultural roots and community pride\n\nA student-run art gallery show\n\nA documentary about local history or elders\n\nA youth-led cultural festival or open mic\n\nA digital archive preserving neighborhood traditions\n\nThis capstone project showcases student talent and strengthens community identity.\n\n4.
