It will be first all-inclusive, 24-hour hybrid youth services hub for ages 0–25 and all students in the local Crown Heights community. The objective of this youth hub is to create a local resource in the Borough of Brooklyn, particularly for students at Medgar Evers College and to secure accessible citywide resources for students and youth in the community. This Youth Hub would serve as a center and will serve as both an out-of-school-time destination and an emergency support center offering virtual and in-person access to social, academic, emotional, and professional development resources. \n \nWith internet access becoming a greater need for school-aged youth, this center would be a direct platform for students without access to the internet to complete their assignments and to participate in education proactively\n.\nEvery youth who enters the center for physical programming or for digital resources will be paired with a center representative and they would gain direct access to a coalition of vetted community-based organizations that deliver wraparound services tailored to each individual’s needs (Community Pantries, Immigration Services, Healthcare services, Shelters, and more resources). The Youth Hub will be a safe space to be seen, heard, and supported a place of refuge, recreation, and transformation. \n\nWith a holistic approach to wellness and wealth, the Youth Hub will teach young people that health is wealth, empowering them to use food as medicine, embrace mental and emotional wellness, and build financial literacy and generational wealth. From nutrition labs to entrepreneurship workshops, trauma-informed counseling to peer mentorship pipelines, the Youth Hub will be a living blueprint for equity, legacy, and youth-led progress. \n\nThe Youth Hub will be fully inclusive of youth with special needs and those facing adversity ensuring accessibility, dignity, and tailored support for every participant. Whether navigating disability, trauma, housing insecurity, or systemic barriers, every young person will be met with compassion, resources, and opportunity. \n

\n
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
\n

Youth across NYC face rising mental health challenges, academic disengagement, lack of access to safe spaces, and limited exposure to financial literacy and wellness education. Youth with special needs and those facing adversity often experience these challenges more acutely. The Youth Hub addresses these gaps by offering 24-hour, borough-wide access to trusted adults, peer mentors, and holistic services that support youth success and resilience. \n\nThe central groups for impact will be youth from the ages of 0 to 25 and their families in Brooklyn and those seeking support in Brooklyn, especially those in underserved communities, those with special needs, and those facing adversity. The NAACP Medgar Evers College Chapter hub will also benefit schools, community organizations, and city agencies by creating a centralized, coordinated support system. DuBois High School, Clara Barton High School, Prospect Heights High School Educational Complex, including the Brooklyn School for Music and Theatre, Brooklyn Academy of Science and the Environment, High School for Global Citizenship, and International High School at Prospect Heights High School Campus.)\n\nThe Youth Hub will be a collective initiative to bridge involvement across the elementary schools, high schools, and preparatory schools in the area, for the youth to gain valuable understandings from the resources and to learn from the institutional coalition building objectives of the NAACP Medgar Evers College Chapter.

\n
Which groups does your idea focus on?
