Help for Social Workers

Our submission is to invest in training programs for social workers to respond to 911 calls. As police responds to mental health calls, equipped with training to fight crime but not the training to respond to those with mental health struggles. This would involve 3-4 month, weekly training that includes teaching from experienced social workers and those who have been in situations with social workers.

This topic should receive more funding because we believe investing in social services covers other areas of funding. Social services lead to more access to education, which leads to more access to arts and culture, and leads to more civic engagement.
