Throughout four deliberation sessions, Assembly Members decided to advance this idea to one of the final borough ballots for New Yorkers to vote on. The idea has been edited by Assembly Members and CEC staff to fit ballot character limits and remove all references to specific institutions and geographies. Here is the final idea title and description as it will appear on the ballot:

A proactive safety and support program providing seniors with fall-prevention kits, grab bars, night lights, nonslip items, wellness checks, and regular phone calls from trained volunteers. It includes basic home-safety assessments to reduce accidents.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
Falls and isolation are leading causes of hospitalization for seniors. Many seniors live alone without support, experience unsafe home conditions, and lack access to preventive care. This program reduces accidents and loneliness while allowing seniors to age safely in place.
