Legal Help for Tenants

Avatar: New York Public Interest Research Group Fund, Inc. New York Public Interest Research Group Fund, Inc. Advanced to Assemblies
Idea Submission for The People's Money:
We propose funding accessible legal services for tenant rights violations, particularly providing for high-need community members in the Bronx, as they have the highest percentage of renters with the lowest household incomes.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
Seeking professional legal aid can be time consuming, inaccessible, and expensive for the average working class New Yorker. By having more affordable legal help on deck, high-need community members can get tenant rights issues resolved on their own terms.
