Accessible Therapy for the Bronx Community
- Idea Submission for The People's Money:
- Creating an internship program where psych and social work students can help community members feel heard. The students would receive experience along with a stipend and would be subject to supervisors. The people interested would have the choice of in person or zoom therapy sessions.
- What is the problem your idea aims to address?
- Historically the Bronx has been the most underfunded and poverty ridden borough in NYC. The strength of a city is dependent on the health of its people and that includes the mental as well. The people of the bronx need mental support now more than ever. A mentally healthy community is a safe community.
