This idea has advanced to one of our five Borough Assemblies. Throughout four deliberation sessions, Assembly members will decide whether the idea moves on to the final ballot.

Idea Submission for The People's Money:
Creating an internship program where psych and social work students can help community members feel heard. The students would receive experience along with a stipend and would be subject to supervisors. The people interested would have the choice of in person or zoom therapy sessions.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
Historically the Bronx has been the most underfunded and poverty ridden borough in NYC. The strength of a city is dependent on the health of its people and that includes the mental as well. The people of the bronx need mental support now more than ever. A mentally healthy community is a safe community.
