This idea has advanced to one of our five Borough Assemblies. Throughout four deliberation sessions, Assembly members will decide whether the idea moves on to the final ballot.
Fine Arts After School
- Idea Submission for The People's Money:
- Creating an after-school program with a focus on fine arts that aid in the children's ability of social-emotional learning and provide them with a safe and non-judgmental space. We would also include an advertising budget that includes utilizing social media to inform students about the program.
- What is the problem your idea aims to address?
- Chilren need more access to art, especially being in such a multi-cultural society. Schools try to loop-hole art using AI, therefore stripping children of the skills they gain from traditional art . By revising the curriculum to include more traditional metrics of art in every capacity within the classroom, children can gain more insight into the value of art and throughout their lifetime.
