Idea Submission for The People's Money:: More money should be invested in health and wellbeing. This includes mental health services such as social workers and therapists, providing medicine, medical equipment, funding insurance and providing lifelong children healthcare.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?: There's plenty of mentally struggling people in NYC, leading to dangerous behavior including doing drugs, smoking/vaping, harm against others, suicide, and other dangerous activities. Some people also don't seek healthcare due to possibility of not being covered by health insurance. Additionally, covering and providing healthcare to children is expensive, and thus can decrease birth rates and the number of people experiencing parenthood.
