Idea Submission for The People's Money:: Our idea is to establish a program that consists of peer housing support specialists. The peers would be individuals who currently or formerly live(d) in public housing. their role would be to help to individuals with public housing related matters like contacting housing brokers, being support in housing court, helping with requesting repairs in NCYHA housing, etc.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?: Social services need more funding regarding housing. Affordable housing in the city is not actually affordable. Furthermore, people who are eligible for affordable housing have too many hoops to jump through.
