Avatar: Micheal Chen Micheal Chen
Idea Submission for The People's Money:
The proposal focuses on community communication and safety by offering bilingual classes for all age groups (seniors, youth, etc.) to improve language access and reduce isolation. The goal is to strengthen neighbor-to-neighbor communication, especially during emergencies, and reduce violence through better understanding and connection.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
In our community, language barriers often prevent neighbors from communicating effectively, especially during emergencies. When residents cannot understand or help each other, it leads to isolation and, in some cases, increased tension and violence. Creating opportunities for bilingual education and intergenerational interaction will foster trust, improve safety, and strengthen community resilience.
