Throughout four deliberation sessions, Assembly Members decided to advance this idea to one of the final borough ballots for New Yorkers to vote on. The idea has been edited by Assembly Members and CEC staff to fit ballot character limits and remove all references to specific institutions and geographies. Here is the final idea title and description as it will appear on the ballot:
Pathways to Practice
- Idea Submission for The People's Money:
- The pathways to Practice after-school program will provide high school students with hands-on vocational training and apprentice opportunities while also serving the local community. Operating after-school the program will partner with local businesses and trade professionals to offer students practical experience in fields such as carpentry, culinary arts, automotive repairs and digital design. Seniors and community members will benefit through designated services days where students, under supervision, offer free or low-cost assistance.
