Street Smarts: Navigating NYC Safely for School Children

Avatar: Lucinda Shotts Lucinda Shotts
Idea Submission for The People's Money:
Our idea is an afterschool program for students in Queens that teaches how to navigate the NYC Subway and bus system, so they get to and from school safely. We also want the program to teach children how to recognize street signals, such as the "walking sign" that indicates they can cross the street.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
This topic should receive more funding because it is important to preserve the safety of children in New York City.
