A lack of locally owned businesses that is owned by local people. Many residents of Harlem face barriers launching a business due to limited access to funding, mentorship and resources that are essential for entrepreneurship

What is the solution to the challenge?

Local government and private organizations can create funding programs for Harlem entrepreneurs such as micro loans, grants and entrepreneur training programs and internships should be offered by local institutions, colleges and established businesses.
