Avatar: Community Member Community Member
Do you have specific Neighborhood(s) in mind?
Dyre Avenue train station, Gunhill road train station, Boston Road/Gunhill Road Street Mechanic and Car wash vendors.
Which group(s) does your idea focus on? Select as many as apply.
Youth
Older Adults
Public Housing Residents
People with Disabilities
Unhoused People
Low Income People
LGBTQ+, "Black, Indigenous and/or People of Color"
Describe the challenge you want to address:
There is no code enforcement where ordinances are violated. Street vendors, taxi drivers, and food trucks dominate public spaces. Authorities do not enforce existing ordinances. Community agencies need to provide resources and facilities to provide training for the unemployed.
What is the solution to the challenge?
Educating residents, vendors, taxi drivers, and food trucks about codes and regulations so that they will not be violated. There needs to be enforcement of laws and city ordinances. Penalties must be implemented to deter violations.
