    Our organization will implement the \"Community Helpers\" project in Brooklyn’s Coney Island and Brighton Beach, matching trained volunteers with older adults and individuals with disabilities to assist with errands like grocery shopping and prescriptions, promoting independence and reducing isolation through culturally sensitive support.

    What motivated your organization to apply for this project?

    Driven by our commitment to support vulnerable groups, we bring expertise in inclusive programming and social adult services, strong community ties, and a culturally sensitive team to deliver impactful, personalized support in Coney Island and Brighton Beach.

    How do you think this project will make a difference in the community?

    This project will make a difference by promoting independence and reducing social isolation among older adults and individuals with disabilities. By providing essential support with daily tasks, we empower participants to remain engaged and connected, fostering a stronger, more inclusive community where all members feel valued and supported.

    We’re excited to see community bonds strengthen as volunteers and participants connect, creating meaningful relationships that foster mutual support, respect, and a greater sense of belonging for everyone involved.

    Others can get involved in our project by contacting our office manager directly to explore available volunteer opportunities. These may include errand assistance, supporting small social events, or helping our TRIE partners with food pantries.
