What problem would you like to solve?

There are no public restrooms anywhere near Mosholu Parkway. People find dark corners in the parkland or go behind trees to relieve themselves.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

It’s unsanitary and unbecoming of the neighborhood. Local cab drivers and delivery people have no dignified place to go to the bathroom during their shifts and they use the park as a bathroom.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Build a “relief station” (aka bathroom) near the parkway. Add lighting to discourage people from relieving themselves on the trees and in the grass. Consider a self-cleaning unit like they have in Madison square park and Times Square.

    Who would that help?

Cab drivers, delivery people, local community members, visitors who are enjoying the parkway for the day.

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

    The Bronx
