What problem would you like to solve?

The problem we would like to solve is creating more wheelchair accessible ramps to get into buildings that are raised and not resting on the surface level.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

This is important to solve because neighborhoods, closer to the bodies of water, have begun to elevate their buildings in the case of hurricanes. In raising the buildings, the only accessible way of entering the front door is through stairs. This makes it difficult for physically disabled individuals who use wheelchairs to get around.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

An idea we have for addressing this problem is making it mandatory for raised buildings to build ramps or elevators to make their building accessible to wheelchair users.

    Who would that help?

This would help individuals who are physically disabled and wheelchair users who have a hard time using stairs.

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

This would benefit all boroughs as all boroughs have wheelchair individuals.
