What problem would you like to solve?

Lack of access to physical and mental health services

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Providing people with access to physical and mental health services can improve overall health and well-being, which can lead to better learning, reduced mental health crises, reduced crime.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Expand the NYC Health & Hospitals mobile units to provide expanded health care services, such as screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, vision, prostate cancer, hearing, immunizations, treatment for minor injuries (e.g., stitches) and illnesses such as the flu. And some units should be dedicated exclusively to counseling services. This should be in addition to, but distinct from, the mobile crisis units that respond to calls when someone is having a mental health crisis, which the City should expand.

    Who would that help?

All residents in need of care.

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

    Queens
