Expand Mobile Pick Up for Tech Recycling

What problem would you like to solve?

Make it easier for people to recycle items that can't be thrown out in regular garbage but contain toxins so, they need to be specially recycle - computers, batteries, old TVs and stereo equipment, light bulbs.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

People are supposed to take these items to special sites but most city residents are probably just throwing them out because they don't get to the special site or done have room. [NOTE: The City has a program that will do pick up for buildings but they have to have a separate locked area in their basement. Many buildings don't have room or infrastructure for this.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

As with bulk pick-up, have a day when residents can put these special items out. Or, can arrange with city for individual pick up.

Who would that help?

The generation after us who won't have these items in landfill poisoning the soil. City residents who can't afford or not strong enough to carry these items to recycling sites.
