Essential

Domestic Violence and Trafficking Awareness and Resources

Avatar: Community Member Community Member

What problem would you like to solve?

I would like a program to end domestic violence and human trafficking.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

This problem is important because there is not enough awareness to save people. Personally, I am an activist to stop domestic violence and human trafficking, and we need to build more awareness and resources. This is relevant in the community because it is currently happening in the community all around. People are dealing with these issue day by day.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

First, it’s important to teach the prevalence and wrongness of domestic violence in grade schools. Next, it’s important to provide shelters and resources to victims. Let's create a program in school that shows the after affects of being in this situation and possibly ways on how woman or men can get out of this situation. It is important to have a program and a service to assist people to know their resources and signs of this occurring before it is too late.

Who would that help?

Youth and victims

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

Bronx
