• +

Art is a medium that shapes and empowers the community. In urban environments, artistic expression is vital to a community's overall well-being. As creative expression is conducive to mental and emotional wellness, sharper mental acuity, and self-confidence, this fosters a need for art and artists when community groups are looking to organize, communicate their message, and raise awareness about an issue. \n\nIn this age of STEM and STEAM, there is also a need for artistic expression that advances with technology, appeals to youth and members of each district, and addresses literacy gaps, digital art forms, and music instruction gaps in education. Students and aspiring artists respect artistic expression and careers in the Arts, Music, Theater, Filmmaking, Literature, Journalism, and Photography when working artists earn a living wage. Community programming should pay artists and instructors for their contributions and for facilitating an arts curriculum. This program should address these needs.
