What happened during Idea Generation?
In the fall of 2024, New Yorkers were invited to attend public and virtual Idea Generation Workshops to:
Learn how the city budget works
Talk about what their neighborhoods need
Share and develop ideas to improve their communities
They also submitted ideas online, here at Participate.nyc.gov.
Highlights from Idea Generation!

Before launching, the CEC led a robust engagement process to request proposals from community-based organizations and other groups to partner with us to facilitate Idea Generations Workshops across the five boroughs. 166 partners were selected. Click here to Get to Know our IG Partners.

The CEC and our 166 partners facilitated 502 Idea Generation Workshops across the city through which we engaged 9,586 New Yorkers. Click here to see all of the Community IG Workshops.
