Describe the challenge you want to address:
There are not enough NYC Parks staff to clean up all the trash left behind in parks. The messes left behind provide food for rats, as well as make the parks uninviting for others to use.
What is the solution to the challenge?
National and State parks follow a simple concept called "Leave No Trace" and have signs at park entrances to explain the concept that anything you brought with you should be removed when you leave, and not left behind. NYC parks could also add attractive looking signs with a stylish logo to encourage park visitors to clean up after themselves, and to feel good about doing their part.
